The following is a guest post by the author/wife of My Husband is Crazy! If you missed her introduction, make sure you check it out! This is a good one!!!
After a long day at work, I just want to come home and relax a little. I never know what will be waiting for me on the other side of my front door. My crazy husband buys things all the time and hides them until he thinks its safe to show it to me. It is not like he buys little things. He has gotten into this fixation with life sized things. Tonight I came home, walked out on my back patio and saw this…
I came right back in the house, grabbed my blackberry, asked my daughter “Did you see the elephant”? she replied “Yep, I have seen it”. Just like that. Very matter of fact and not like she was surprised that there was 4 foot tall elephant statue sitting in her backyard. Why would she think that was weird?
I snapped a picture of the elephant with my blackberry and went back in the house. My crazy husband was on the phone with one of his friends. He was deep in conversation and I politely placed the blackberry right in front of him so he could see that I had discovered his recent crazy purchase. He immediately told his friend that he had to go because he might be in trouble.
Here is how our conversation went:
Me: How much for the elephant?
Him: Not much
Me: How much?
Him: Hardly nothing
Me: How much?
Him: How much for what? What are we talking about?
Realizing that his passive aggressive attempt at not telling what he paid for the elephant was failing, he quickly guided me to the front porch and started to tell me where he thinks we should put it. As we walked back into the house he asked…"Is this like that saying, The elephant in the room?"
I have to admit that I do like it.
I still don’t know how much he paid for it.
